Libya From All Angles: What’s Happening, Who Profits & You.

Let’s begin with what we know.

On the face of it, the U.S. bombing of Libya is an effort to help the people who were being slaughtered by Gaddafi’s hired mercenaries.

For me, the motives behind war – even “humanitarian” war – are always suspect. Besides meaning people being shot and blown to bits, war also means weapons $ales and control over land and people.   While Libyan rebels might be grateful for the U.S. bombs, remember that the U.S. is simultaneously watching dictators in Yemen, Bahrain, and now Syria butcher their people to maintain control.

“Secretary of State Hillary Clinton even gave the U.S. stamp of approval to the brutal crackdown on protesters in Bahrain, saying the country’s authoritarian rulers “obviously” had the “sovereign right ” to invite troops from Saudi Arabia to occupy their country and carry out human rights abuses, including attacks on injured protesters as they  lay in theirhospital bed s .” – commondreams.org

So what makes Libya special? To answer that, we must ask: who profits?
For one, “ BP has 15 billion pounds worth of investments in Libya, so don’t pretend it is not a big deal.”InfoWars.com reports:  “Like Saddam Hussein in oil-rich Iraq, Muammar al-Gaddafi is a PR disaster and does not fit into the new Middle East envisioned by the globalists and their multinational mega-corporations. The CIA and British intelligence engineered color revolutions in the Middle East are designed to install more user-friendly and up-to-date dictators and globalist stooges.”

Globalresearch.ca notes that “A ‘humanitarian war’ would be good for business,” giving Wall Street speculators an excuse to buy, buy, buy and drive up the price the oil. And of course, you don’t hear these perspectives on U.S. network news because that would be bad for business.
So what’s the proactive solution here? I have heard some clamoring for the U.S. to stop selling bombs to dictators, but I don’t think that’s the best answer. If the U.S. weren’t selling bombs and attack helicopters to Gaddafi and other Middle East dictators, wouldn’t someone else?

I think a better solution is to start voting for politicians who support developing alternative energy. Most of the Middle East dictators rely on oil money to support their regime. Start building solar and wind farms to power America, and suddenly that oil isn’t so valuable.

Of course, that doesn’t answer the question of whether the U.S. bombing Libya served a good purpose, and if the U.S. has some legitimate role as global Superman, flying in with unmatched force to stop evil-doers. The answer to that question, I don’t know.

In the long run, the real solution as always starts with you. Find the honest candidates, and start converting and signing up voters and demanding honest state and federal Congressmen. When YOU take action, you can change the debate in the country, and change the world.Spread the word.
