Peace in the Middle East and Obama
Since the last time these countries openly fought (and Israel “won” dominantly) Israel has received billions and billions and billions in funding from the U.S. for weaponry. Does Israel really need more protection? They have a top rate air force, which none of their opponents have.
Even if Iran got nuclear weapons, they would not use them for the same reason the U.S. and Russia never did – mutually assured destruction. On top of that, the holy sites in Israel are holy to Muslims as well, and they don’t want them destroyed either.
If I were President, I would stop giving Israel and Egypt money for weapons. The U.S. Congress has financed middle East militaries because military manufacturers have manipulated the people into electing Congressman who are financed by the military manufacturers, and those Congressmen have been voting for “foreign aid” which amounts to enormous weapons contracts. Obama may think negatively about Israel, but he has not spoken out against the billions for weapons for Israel.
If I were President, I would not give Israel or Egypt money for weapons, though I would consider funding American companies to build water facilities, farms, schools, infrastructure, and peace gatherings. That is the route to peace. The current step in the right direction is Ron Paul. He will not build any of the good things I just mentioned, but he would speak out against the money for guns status quo. A good first step, and he is the only current candidate for President with any good steps.
